A space that’s entirely yours.
One hour. No agenda except yours. No performance, no explaining yourself to someone who doesn’t quite get it, no shrinking what you’re feeling so it’s easier for everyone else to handle.
Just honest conversation with someone who will actually show up with you.
That’s what individual therapy at Rising Sails looks like.
Who This Is For
You might be a good fit for individual therapy if you are:
Moving through grief that doesn’t seem to be lifting — whether you lost a person, a relationship, a version of your life, or something else entirely that deserved to be grieved.
Living with anxiety that has become your baseline — the overthinking, the bracing, the inability to rest, the 3am spiral you know too well.
Carrying a depression that’s made everything feel flat, distant, or just harder than it should be — and wondering if this is just how things are now.
Feeling disconnected from yourself — like you’ve drifted away from who you are, what you want, or what actually matters to you.
Going through a major life transition — a loss, a career change, a relationship shift, a move, a milestone that brought up more than you expected.
Ready to do something different — even if you’re not sure exactly what that looks like yet.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you reach out. Most people don’t. You just need to be willing to show up.
What to Expect
The Consultation Before we begin, we’ll have a free 15-minute phone or video consultation. This is a chance for us to get a feel for each other — you can ask questions, share what’s bringing you in, and we’ll both get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no pressure and no commitment.
The First Session Our first session is about getting to know you — not just what’s happening right now, but your history, your patterns, what you’ve already tried, and what you’re hoping for. It’s a conversation, not an intake form.
Ongoing Sessions From there, sessions are 50 minutes and happen weekly or biweekly depending on what works best for you. We’ll set goals together, revisit them as things shift, and adjust our approach based on what’s actually helping. Some people come with a specific thing to work through. Others come because something is off and they can’t quite name it yet. Both are completely valid starting points.
My Approach
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based techniques, and strengths-based practice. In practice that means sessions are collaborative, grounded in evidence, and shaped entirely around you — your history, your goals, your pace.
I’m warm and I’m direct. I’ll ask the questions worth asking. I’ll challenge you when it matters. And I’ll be honest with you — because that’s what actually helps.
